Terrifier 3

terrifier 3 wasn't impossible to watch, hence my rating not being a half star, but by god was it hard. for a movie with such an infamous reputation, i was expecting to be covering my eyes and feeling nauseous the whole time, but honestly the gore just looked like a sub-par rakaraka video, and the only part that came close to grossing me out was the shower scene.
admittedly, the film was very hard to follow, and part of that could be that i haven't seen the other two, but i also believe that it's just very poorly written, and for a gore-filled, slash extravaganza i was fairly bored throughout my viewing. some parts were so absurd i just couldn't help but laugh, like when art pees in a mall santa while sitting on his lap, then killing him and cutting his beard off and sticking it on him while he pretends to be santa.
i also really don't like the ending, and i know how stupid and cliched it is to watch a horror movie and say "well, these characters are just stupid. no normal person would do this!", but in this case i think it's acceptable. and the metaphor couldn't be more on the nose; it was so poorly executed it genuinely pissed me off.
overall, not a christmas or halloween movie but what i would call a no one movie, as in it's for no one except damien leone's sick, twisted torture porn fantasies.
