Just a couple notes I couldn't fit in:

1. There are characters technically, but little in the way of actual arcs. You experience the events the same way the citizens of this town would... through media. But there are reoccurring characters that keep popping up, you just don't get to know much of anything about most of them.

2. But the point is more about how consumerism, corporations and monopolies destroy things. So it makes sense to not have deep characters because big corporations don't humanize people. Buffets are already excessive, so Buffet Infinity being a buffet that never stops expanding and eats up other businesses is great symbolism. And makes it a great like... cosmic horror villain too. Good stuff.

3. Like some other recent experimental horror, I think it should be shorter. It's a good time but it rolls out its message slowly. And while it's a good message, it's also relatively one-note, so I don't think it needed to be an 1hr 40. It would be lean and a better movie at 1hr 10 or so, because it hits many of the same beats repeatedly.

4. But even still, the satire's on point and I laughed/chuckled/smiled quite a bit during this. I do appreciate the ominous atmosphere throughout though, even when it's being silly.
Mini Review: I quite enjoyed it because the premise is a lot of fun. But it's more comedy than horror. Specifically, it's more satire than anything. And as such, it's great. The commercials get progressively weirder and actually made me laugh. There's a sense of not knowing what's going to come next. The idea behind Buffet Infinity is great too. My only real gripe is that it gets a little repetitive. Honestly, this would benefit from being a fair bit shorter.
