went into this thinking i would hate it more than the first but i don't! if andrew garfield ever looked like a high schooler he'd be perfect spider-man casting (in a better movie) ; he shows flashes of being a great adaptation of ultimate spider-man. garfield and emma stone's amazing chemistry saves a lot of the weird melodrama they have going on here. i had no idea what the current status of their relationship was for most of the movie. probably the best chemistry among the three spider-man franchise couples in spite of that. the villains stink! probably cause the entire plot is spread so thin. there's a scene where spiderman chases electro's... electro waves (?) through new york which is a great visual considering this movie and the first are so boring to look at for the most part. this movie starts with an action scene of peter parker's parents and whoever decided that should regret that. it ends with a song written by hans zimmer, pharrell, alicia keys, and kendrick lamar, though, so it has that going for it.
