Chapter Three: The Pollywog
This review contains spoilers
Alright, I didn’t expect El to go straight to Sheriff Jim Hopper to live with him. This episode was such an emotional rollercoaster—so many things came to a head here.
Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers plan to tell Claudia Henderson the truth. Meanwhile, Hopper, who broke his promise to El, completely loses his temper and storms out. But honestly, the most shocking part has to be Dustin Henderson keeping that creature from the Upside Down as a pet… even treating it like a treasure. His friend was literally taken by a monster from that same dimension—what if this thing is a baby version of those creatures? I guess that’s just how the plot needs to roll sometimes.
And poor Will… he took Bob Newby’s advice, but it turns out it wasn’t just a regular flashback—he actually got pulled back into the Upside Down. Then at the very end of the episode, it looks like he gets possessed by that huge tentacled monster? Absolutely terrifying.
