This season added quite a bit of relationship drama, but it didn’t drag down the overall pacing. I really enjoyed the slice-of-life moments before shifting back into monster-fighting and the intense final showdown—kept things both exciting and engaging.

Jim Hopper’s character development this season was strong, though it felt a little overdone at times. On the other hand, Jonathan and Nancy didn’t get much standout material, and the same goes for a few others. Hoping next season brings more interesting personal arcs for the whole cast.

I also appreciated how each episode dropped little mysteries that paid off later—really satisfying when the reveals finally hit. And thankfully, the main crew didn’t suddenly turn stupid just for the sake of plot (a relief!).

The budget definitely felt bigger this season—the visuals were sharper, and those dark, tense sequences were especially gripping. From the wide-scale blackout at the start (felt like a disaster movie) to the explosive VFX in the finale, the production value was noticeably higher.

Some plot points were a bit far-fetched, but overall, this season delivered.

As for impressions:

Gruff, emotionally clumsy Jim Hopper

Joyce Byers, just trying to end it all and save her family

Working-couple vibes from Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers

Steve Harrington—still the babysitter, always the babysitter

Robin, the secretly brilliant one

The original Mike squad, all grown up a bit

El’s new confidante, Max

Solid season overall.
