Chapter Six: The Dive
This review contains spoilers
The basketball team captain feels like one of those real-life cult leaders—always accusing others of being evil when he’s the real problem.
I could tell El was retracing her whole journey from being powerless to gaining abilities and finally getting her own revenge. Honestly, it makes sense—how else was she gonna break free? Seems like the West really has a thing for cliques and picking on outsiders… classic American TV trope.
In a place like a lab training kids with powers, bullying someone seen as weak feels almost inevitable. They even set it up back in Season 1. But that scene with Steve at the end… seriously? Why create drama like that? Wouldn’t it have been better if he sensed someone reactivating the gate vines, surfaced, and got dragged into the Upside Down that way?
Gotta say though, that flock of birds at the end… painful to watch. Who’s going to save Steve now? Are the other three gonna jump into the gate after him? Is this the first time someone’s actually entered it directly in the whole series?
And Hopper… can he even escape this season? Three episodes left. Good luck to them, honestly. Feels like he and that ex-guard are becoming something like friends… I have a feeling one of them isn’t making it out alive.
