The Island
Watching The Island 20 years after its release brings a nostalgic joy. They don't make movies this tasteless and dumb anymore, and that's for the best, but still. There is a fun to be had.
You can't help but wish that the movie focused more on the interesting sci-fi conceits and less on the explosions and helicopters, but this is a Michael Bay release, so said wishing is a fool's errand. Regardless, the film is surprisingly fun for what it is, which is a big budget rip off of a 70s B-movie with hilariously out of place product placement for OG Xbox and MSN Search.
