A Friend of the Family

The show was done really well - good pacing and storytelling, perfect casting. A Friend of the Family keeps you at the edge of your seat and wanting for more, albeit the episodes are close to an hour each. Even though it was incredibly unbelievable at times, what was shown was actually the reality and the cold, hard facts.

Another Wikipic (a wikipedia page: the movie), meaning that there are really no insights in character or examining what drove them to do what they did, just events and more events. But since it's a true story, there's enough stranger-than-fiction madness to stay mildly hooked and see it out to the end. Production values and music were good, the acting hit or miss: Lacy is captivating as psychopath, but Hanks is a bit of a stereotype. Paquin doesn't have much to do aside from quivering her lips
