Sort of Civil War version of "Schindler's List" looks at the atrocities that occurred in the 1864 prisoner-of-war camp run by the Confederacy in Georgia. The prison originally planned to house 8000, eventually swelled to 33,000 which left little shelter, food or water for the prisoners and unclean conditions. (imdb)

It's decent, all in all. For every powerful or exciting moment there are an equal amount of duds and predictable ones. Quite long, which helps convey the desperation of the prisoners but doesn't make for constantly gripping content. My recent interest in the Civil War helped raise my score a bit.

Great movie about the horrible times in a particularly cruel southern prison camp during the Civil War. Surprisingly good acting by some not-very-well-known actors.
