In the prosperous kingdom of Pars lies the Royal Capital of Ecbatana, a city of splendor and wonder, ruled by the undefeated and fearsome King Andragoras. Pros: Great believable story that feels a bit smarter than usual, good character designs, few "funny" scenes /// Cons: Noticeable repeated use of CGI for large battles, rough action choreography/direction/animation at times. No sense of closure at the end of S1. The main antagonist is a Char Aznable rip-off.

A fine example of how a competent but soulless adaptation can completely suck the life out of presumably excellent source material. I far prefer the previous (early 90s) adaptation even though it was substantially shorter and covered the story in much less detail.
