Superbly written characters in combination with a dizzyingly heinous story make Black Hands a hidden true-crime gem. Maybe it was partially because i watched this going through covid fever, but everyone in this show resonated quite deeply with me on a creepy and empathetic level. It has a gloomy quirkiness, but staying far away from the obvious caricature traps. The dad in Black Hands is a character of pure flesh and blood, in my mind he exists and is not an actor.
