Brazen Hussies

A disappointment, given this cast and material; the film lacks focus and a consistent tone, at some points wanting to be bawdy along the lines of LITTLE VOICE or THE FULL MONTY, before switching awkwardly to full-blown dramatics - when the characters are established as jokey, pantomime figures, it's hard to become invested in them dramatically. Walters, Armstrong and a hilarious Lindsay give it their all, and some of the (albeit predictable) broadly comic moments land well enough.
