Not unintentionally funny (except watching the shield "soar"), but dull in the way any 70s superhero tv movie now would be. Good efx don't exist yet so we get 2 interminably long travel scenes, "bionic" scenes & only 2 cool stunts w/ Cap leaping off cycles onto truck & copter. Reb Brown seems to have the same acting coach as Kenny Rogers & so he only comes across as stiff rather than overacting. The new origin makes sense, the ending's anti-climatic & I'm sure a 1979 10 yo liked it well enough

Somewhat bland, and very padded, but worth watching if you like older, kind of goofy superhero stuff.

As I said with the sequel, what the heck is with the plastic shield and the bicycle helmet? It could have been tolerable had it been written by someone who had not gone through a lobotomy.

Typically bland TV fare.
