I didn't particularly enjoy Carol & The End of the World. The show has plenty of dry humour, but effectively takes the fun out of the apocalypse. Kelly voices Carol well with a sense of frumpiness and ennui that is frustrating to watch. Consequently, the best 2 episodes were the ones without Carol. The animation is good, but it embraces mundane too well.

Promising first couple of episodes, and sprinkled with some nice ideas about what the last 10 months of existence might be like if we knew, but fails at being able to really re-imagine modern day life - lots of plots that are based around trying to hold on to and treasure our existing fucked up world, rather than being able to finally move on from it.

has a great premise but the show avoids opening up and showing much actual interiority of carol. instead of showing consistent growth throughout, the last 2 episodes are large departures from the actual character that read more like alternate timelines. the best parts of the show are when it breaks away to tell the stories of other characters without inhibition

Everything I could want from truly 'adult' animation: thought-provoking, unique, endlessly varied even within its limited 10-episode run, a fantastical premise used to explore strong emotional realism.
