Like so many slick TV series, the start was good: 2 seasons of engaging situations and writing. But then the writing lost its footing, and it devolved into a bunch of cheesy situations with caricatures of characters--especially the younger women. And, if possible, worse, there's a baby/pregnancy sub-plot almost every episode. Most daytime soaps handle their characters and "intense" situations better. Norma Kuhling's "South African" accent is so bad there should be a special razzie award for it.

So cheesy that it is perfect.

It is lead by a series of characters that carry some cool personality traits and most episodes are entertaining enough to keep you focused. It is a procedural so it follows a very forumlaic way of laying out every season. Nothing really shocks and aws but it does its job of staying engaging and well acted throughout long stretches when other shows seem to waver, Chicago Med does not. One Chicago is a fun little universe to immerse yourself in and this just adds to that fire (pun intended)
