Very likeable and easy going. Starts to feel more comfortable with itself in the second series, which is notably stronger than the first.

Passable Aussie comedy is at least more interesting (and ambitious) than much of my country’s comedy output in recent years, but this never quite develops a satisfying balance or rhythm to its style or storytelling – there are moments where farce threatens to break out, but then the plotting hews completely straight, leaving the show to founder with an awkward tension that doesn’t seem to be deliberate. Still, a roster of largely new (to me) performers gives this a quirky and distinctive edge.
