The gotcha conclusion was a bit forced and relied on contemporary bunk science of subliminal messaging. The episode easily could have worked without the subliminal bunk and had a more satisfying solution. The killer and Columbo had a decent back and forth going on and the setup was pretty good. And just one more thing...
