Engineer Karwowski is a clichéd representative of the middle class, whose life achievements are Fiat 126p and completely typical M4. We meet the engineer on his 40th birthday. Karwowski, who is in his early forties, is giving up smoking. However, it turns out that the life of the builder of Trasa ?azienkowska goes on at such a crazy pace that quitting the addiction turns out to be impossible. It is a series about the twisted reality of the '70s, revealing the absurdity of socialist Poland.
