I sought this out based on a distant memory and I'm glad I did,if just for nostalgia purposes. As a wide-eyed nine year old I found this both fascinating and terrifying;watching again 30 years on it just comes across as a goofy CBBC sci-fi,much like the Doctor Whos writer Russell T Davies would go on to pen.An interesting premise, but the execution is a bit heavy-handed.Debutant Kate Winslet (looking like a proto-Clementine from Eternal Sunshine...) stands out amongst the wooden/overacting kids.
