Amusing and entertaining as you empathise with the poor sod who's in the middle of the whole set up, the fact that it focuses on the experience of this very reluctant guy (rather than one of the more obviously compliant applicants we see snippets of later) is evidence that Derren's actual manipulations are nothing to write home about. Decent enough telly for an hour though.
