I'm a sucker for (post)apocalyptic stuff and have read the book (long ago). It's not terrible, but its confusing beginning (how long was this guy out???) combined with a very "Budgeted TV feel" hamstrings this from the beginning. It make a valiant attempt to show some scale at a city level at least, but it still feels constrained, smallish. The leads are hit or miss, and some of the support are definitely lacking and it has the overwhelming "bibley feel" too it. Could be worse. Should be better

Writers can't imagine ways of presenting the future without using the patterns we know from life today, producers can't imagine anyone will be able to understand anything that doesn't use patterns from today.
