Easter Island: Mysteries of a Lost World
Archaeologist Dr Jago Cooper looks at the latest scientific evidence to re-examine what happened to the civilisation that once thrived on Easter Island. It is famous for the hundreds of statues that have survived in the desolate landscape, and many people believe the inhabitants' overuse of natural resources led to their demise. However, the presenter thinks this is a misreading of events, and the real reasons for the culture's downfall is far more shocking

Not so cinematic but the "genocide" and slavery version of events presented here was far more interesting and plausible than the old ecocide myth.
