Although the initial two episodes hit familiar horror scifi beats that make it look like another Alien-esque creature feature, the story ends up going in a totally different direction, one with enough twists, turns and challenging concepts to become totally its own thing. The stylized visual design, best described as CG Aeon Flux, will probably divide people but manages to create a distinct visual identity. A standout in the sea of mediocrity of the Netflix catalogue.

What starts as a cool concept quickly boxes itself into yet another closed environment horror story. There are a few twists and turns as the mystery element comes into play but the characters aren't interesting enough to sustain the intrigue. While the series scratches at themes of endurance, survival and human nature; the package (animation, dialogue, plot-actions) it comes in is a bit unappealing.
