Heady stuff: a Danielle Steel miniseries about an actress who breaks into directing in Old Hollywood (when a hilarious caricature of John Huston smashes a chair and storms off set) and proceeds to marshal her family through several decades of TV-dysfunction, with John Waters showing up as a sleazy director who tries to get the protagonist's daughter, also an actress, to waive her no-nudity cause in his swamp-slasher movie ("This is an art film. We'll take it to Cannes, it's my best work!")
