Needed to show the evil doll walking away from an explosion. I give it points for having a person walking around on fire...you don't see much immolation anymore in movies. The parents would totally have been implicated in all of the deaths.

Ribcage is right about the immolation. Old school person-on-fire effects too - you know, where the person on fire is suddenly much fatter than before because of all of the fire protection gear the stunt person has to wear so they can burn safely? Hadn't seen that in years. Lots of blowing things up. And lots of throwing sharp objects at people. The latter of which people die from surprisingly easily and also quickly. Almost like it isn't real.
