Corin Nemic is an impressionable young Jewish kid who falls hard for girl next door Cheryl Pollak. Before you can say "Bridget Loves Bernie" (or even "Abie's Irish Rose") the two young spooners are stymied by parental pressure. It is the girl who takes the initiative in quelling the fears and doubts of the grown-ups, while shy Corin stands by in moonstruck admiration. (rottentomatoes.com)

Overly familiar coming-of-age film set in the 60s curiously does nothing with the milieu but is still easy to take. Despite the double entendre title and opening scenes which threaten to veer into 80s teen smut, this actually emerges as a pretty decent and sweet natured film; it's a shame the screenplay is a watered down, generic mix of REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and STAND BY ME which goes absolutely nowhere you don't expect it to. Best moments come from Spano as Nemec's sympathetic father.
