Main character is Take Seiji, he quits his job after 3 months. With no goals, no savings, and a poor family relationship, he becomes a near hikikomori (Japanese term, a stay-in-room recluse). After his mum develops depression, he takes a part-time road building job. The positive attitudes of co-workers makes him decide to retry. One co-worker is Chiba Manami, a top-class uni grad & wanna be designer. She's up, unlike Seiji. But while they clash at first, they gradually draw closer. (imdb)

A superior Jdrama serial (genre fans could easily add 10 to score) that, tho somewhat dragged down by the usual serial tropes - small world, unrealistic work environment, problems are always solvable, - benefits from a strong cast who work well and the (as seriously as a serial can) tackling of several modern societal issues with sincerity. Note this is NOT a do-gooder work nor vapid. Shortish at 10 eps, has an OK special added on. Above average with some depth - the romance is halting but OK
