i didn't realise how much i needed mark heap's persona from JAM transposed into a sitcom setting. ritter very good too.

I loosely avoided it for years because I’m not a particular fan of Bird or Greig’s past stuff. I shouldn't have. Greig is arguably the shows highlight, along with superb late Paul Ritter. The show fluctuates in quality, and not everything lands, but when it’s working it’s a funny, clever slant on British suburban family life.
