This bored the hell out of me. I can appreciate opera, and I appreciated some things about this. The performers are fabulously talented, and the costumes and sets were impressive. My disinterest stems mostly from the story; I don't find the story of Joan of Arc the least bit compelling. It's a bunch of mumbo-jumbo without any emotional resonance, and a pretty dangerous message (obey god's violent orders and you'll become a martyr).
