Gotti

has possibly the best opening credits sequence.

I didn't expect much from an HBO movie in the rise-and-fall true gangster mould, but "Gotti" is about as good as they get. The script is realistic enough that Michael Franzese (who knew every one of those guys) vouched for its authenticity; but it's the exemplary cast that outshines all else. Casting did an ingenious job across the board, but leads Assante, Forsythe and Quinn, armed with pitch-perfect lines of dialogue, make you feel like you're watching real mob capos.
