I really wanted to like this! I love the aesthetic, I enjoy '90s "cyberspace" stories, and Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad was a fave as a kid. But these plots are way too simplistic and generic to stand up to scrutiny, even for a viewer who's open to embracing kid-focused storytelling. And it's not like it's just a product of its time - Zyuranger, from 1992, has simple plots, but the storytelling style is way weirder and more interesting. I doubt this would've had staying power even for kid me.
