The first half somewhat of a charm with the story and dialogue progressing smoothly with enough intrigue to keep me watching, despite the atrocious acting. When the battle scenes started, however, it went downhill - fighting and camera work were absurd, the acting became B-level comical, and the dialogue hinted at blank screenplay pages, as if they had no idea how to write simple exchanges anymore. Overall a decent couple of hours, but nothing special.

If this had a bit more energy, it could be pretty fabulous camp. As it is, it's medium-fun, and a painless lesson in (somewhat perverted) ancient Greek history/mythology. The notion that this Sienna Guillory possesses the "face that launched 1000 ships" is fairly laughable, but her nipples certainly could have launched a couple.

Surprisingly I liked it, and its much closer to the Iliad than the so-so Hollywood version in Troy.

Sienna Guillory in the impossible role of "the most beautiful woman in the world", gives a very nice performance in a very crappy TV film. The script departs from the text of the Iliad in favor of a conventional, thoughtless and humorless romance story with action sequences. The directing, editing and soundtrack are very poor.
