Not the worst remake, not the best remake. The cast does a decent job, and the effects really aren't that bad, but the thing is this just doesn't improve on anything that its predecessor does- in fact, its social commentary is less effective & its characters less investing because of that. There is a Clint Howard sighting, which was fun, & the banter between Wade and Matt was enjoyable. Overall, though, it's a bit plodding and the ending is iffy. Not a must-see, unless you're morbidly curious.

Well, this is a Corman production so right away that should tell you something. Some good nudity, bad humour and bad effects.
