John Lennon: The Messenger

Frustrating doco may well play better for Lennon completists, but otherwise its lack of form or focus becomes a too difficult hurdle, especially after a first third that does a pretty good job of providing an overview of his assassination via news footage of the time; its strength is in its impressive array of candid archival footage during and after The Beatles, but the sloppy assemblage makes it less satisfying as a feature.
