Run-of-the-mill noir PI show that does nothing to stand out from the crowd. Cassavetes is boxed in so tightly that he feels interchangeable despite being in the director's chair too. The narration goes so far overboard in both lazy and time-killing ways. A bizarre amount of time is spent showing Staccato just crossing New York City and using narration to explain how the subway works and other rudimentary shit like that. Feels like a bunch of LA writers overexplaining NYC more than a real plot
