Plagued by some deeply annoying and thin secondary character acting, but a cozy watch with a great Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) nailing Julia Child as a magnetic personality you want to be around. Even better than Streep in Julie & Julia I would say. The story arch is feeble. Why is there plotting around her uninteresting relationship with Paul Child, and not.. for example.. about her career as a spy for the CIA? Music is stock comedy pizzicato cringe.

Watch as Julia Child succeeds despite no adversity to become a TV cooking icon. I just found out that this is somehow going to have a second season? What the hell else is there to see?

Probably my new comfort show. Like most people who are interest in or love to cook, I already knew about Julia Child. However it was superficial and lack of depth. I’m willing to learn more with this show. Sarah Lancashire is a perfect as a Julia Child, she is a very cute and sweet woman just like Julia. It is also very good opportunity to examine the feminism movement of the 1960’s. Julia Child’s first scene on TV was pretty touching… For all strong women! My rating may up or down later.
