Basic but solid. It gets on with the business of being a Super Sentai anniversary season while holding its own identity, simply by letting its archetypal characters and their shared concept - pirates with "pirated" versions of Super Sentai powers - bounce off the greater universe. It's light adventure most of the time, but there's a few episodes here and there where it really lets you feel the struggle of rebellion against an enormous empire with unlimited resources, and it's always effective.
