A classic from my childhood. Some episodes were pretty heavy-handed with historical and geographical exposition with social scheming which were not that interesting to an 8-year-old. But I appreciate that the series didn't shy away from tough topics. (Such as the love interest being introduced as a burial offer for her deceased husband.)
