A subpar, odorless forgettable Yakuza story that never takes advantage of the great series of games it’s adapting. There’s nothing clever, memorable or fun. Where’s the goddamn action? They should have focused on one era and fleshed it out instead of bopping back to the past and present. I had no expectations and they were met. I never thought I’d look back fondly at the mediocre Miike version but here we are. just play the games or watch someone play them on the youtubes
