As someone who read the OG on Wattpad this was perfect.

Very standard teen drama, plot reminiscient of Everwood (moving from NYC to small town after a family tragedy etc) but with everything resembling a rough edge sanded off. Performance, writing, even staging and cinematography all bland as a meal of white bread and tap water. Never even attempts to tackle the lead character's grief in any meaningful way, a "moments where Jackie is sad her whole family died" supercut video would be like two minutes long.
