I love all things Mystery Road. (Seen through season 1.)

Patchy but enjoyable outback murder mystery works best in its earlier episodes, establishing a laconic, very Australian feel to its characters and landscapes (and my god the landscapes are stunning!) Meanders too much as it progresses when the tension requires tightening – this would have worked even better stripped down to feature length, which might have lessened the predictability of the finale (especially thanks to a few on-the-nose casting choices). Smith is perfect as the inscrutable Swan.
