Decidedly unpleasant, it plays like an adaptation of Kafka's The Trial but interpreted by Eli Roth minus the gore.

A gritty, greasy portrayal of Southern-fried racism and corruption in the 70s. For the most part, it is morbidly depressing, leaving the watcher with little hope that anything is going to go right for these poor girls. But fans of 70s cinema, never fear. Even amidst the heartbreaking narrative, you'll still find a lesbian rape scene where the prison guard lures her victim with fried chicken, as well as a fight where 30 prisoners rip off eachother's clothes in a bean field while being hosed down.
