Middling and inconsequential comedy special finds Macdonald somewhat stilted and awkward (though the conditions under which it was filmed is a likely contributor) and the “one-take” gimmick means the set feels like it could have been tightened and made punchier. May well be a case of the “special feature” wrap-up with Sandler, Letterman and co. being more compelling than the main feature; while they are unavoidably over-laudatory, there are still some nice gems here as the group talk shop.

I am not a fan of the format, but beggars can't be choosers. There is some incredible Norm timing on display, and some spit-take greatness. RIP Norm.
