One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga

If not as horrifically exploitative as feared, this is still an “event” in dubious (if likely well-intentioned) taste; while Bennett’s soulful, solo moments work well enough (with SAN FRANCISCO genuinely poignant), the flashier moments betray the sharp decline (especially contrasted with Gaga, whose hyperactivity becomes strangely annoying). If Gaga had played at Bennett’s pace, rather than the other way round, this might have been more successful – as is, a serviceable but middling tribute.
