The protagonist is an average baseball player, but a brilliant gambler. Using smarts alone he wins every time; you'd think so much winning will get boring quickly, but this story is not about *if* he'll win, but about *how* he'll win, which always ends up being interesting.

One Outs is a 'game' show through and through. Aside from a concurrent gambling metagame it's about baseball and exclusively about baseball, focusing especially on the pitcher/batter mindgame. I'm not normally a baseball fan but for the duration of this show I sure felt like one. It's nearly impossible to stop watching, with episodes always ending in the middle of a game, often on a riveting cliffhanger. I watched 19 episodes in a day and would've watched more if I had started earlier.
