Starts off making fun of otaku and using them as a target, but slowly swings around to empathy and, finally, triumph - bringing the audience with it. (Unfortunately, this leaves some of the earlier stuff - notably, the live-action interludes - feeling odd.) Nonetheless, an excellent watch if you've ever been a geek.
