Well animated and pleasantly subdued take on mech anime. It's clearly a concious attempt to bring some degree of seriousness to the genre and it sort of succeeds. A more grounded, procedural tone is a good start, but just cutting out the action in favor of more character focused moments doesn't inherently add depth or weight without the writing to support them. 7th ep. is completely unnecessary and out of place.
