Broadcast version. Some contrived things to move the plot forward. It's a 90s tv movie and mystery thriller than horror. The filmmaking is clearly more low-budget than the theatrical films, though it's still decent. It's an inferior movie compared to the 1998 version in most ways, as this feels a bit too sleezy with it's surprsising amount of nudity, it's low budget and it being less supernaturally grand and cohesive with it's story than the 1998 version, but it's still an alright film overall.

This is more of a mystery than a straight up horror film. The biggest reason to check this movie out is the fact that not only is it the first adaptation of the novel but it is also the most faithful to the source material. Enjoyable but not scary, the acting was average as was the directing.
