Quite a typical consumerist product. It seems from the plot that the author wants to show the influence of traumatic experience on the main characters and how they handle it together, but as the story goes on without their relationship mode changing much (possibly because of a stupidifying pursuit of selling more), the characters become empty and the story becomes a poisonous fantasy for girls about a "perfect" man who will let them take whatever power out of their bad feelings about their past.
