A tv series disguised as a tv-movie series. I liked the entire cast a lot here and for a tv-movie this is a good way to spend ninety wrapped up in a mystery with likable and complex characters. But there's nothing separating this from an episode of Shetland. I've been rewatching The Mighty Quinn on and off and I don't know where the idea to have Mimi Rogers come on to someone that resists her originated but it feels out there. Like impossibly out there.

While Stone Cold isn't a great film in any real regard it still manages to be entertaining due to Selleck's presence. The villains aren't very captivating (their motivation is vague and uninteresting), the cinematography is standard made-for-TV movie quality and none of the dialog is particularly sharp. Even so, Selleck's calm but determined demeanour salvages what would otherwise be a completely forgettable film.

The dialogue is cringe at times but the story keeps moving

Dare I say it but there are moments of forbrydelsen-ism here.

I enjoy Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone. He really nails a seasoned veteran police officer hardened by the awful acts of humanity. The plot of this particular film is a little lacking and underdeveloped but bearable. I must also say that I am glad to see a murder mystery set in a location other than Los Angeles or New York City. Paradise is a breath of fresh air in that regard.

Not entirely awful. Feels like a TV series that you don't really like but watch to pass time, and is OK for that purpose. Selleck isn't too bad in it.
